& the Digital Economy at the Thirty-seventh Annual HAWAI'I
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SYSTEM SCIENCES (HICSS-37) on the Big Island of Hawaii January 5 - 8, 2004 |
This
minitrack focuses on systems and processes that support the flow of information
within and between organizations, as it occurs in procurement, manufacturing,
sales, and distribution of goods, information, and services. At the center of
attention will be the impacts of new technologies on inter-organizational
transaction processes, as well as on industries and market structures. In this
context, areas such as supply chain management, electronic procurement, and
cooperation beyond corporate boundaries have seen significant developments in
recent years, in business practice as well as in the academic community.
Emerging technology and systems, innovative process models, algorithms, and
methodologies, as well as creative implementations of early adopters have
created a rich field for research and practical applications.
We
also plan to include new technologies, such as wireless and peer-to-peer
applications into the discussion. Possible
topics include, but are not limited to:
·
The impacts of B2B electronic
commerce on business processes, organizations, and markets
·
Managing Supply-chain collaboration
and joint processes for order fulfillment, product development, and procurement
·
The use and implications of dynamic
pricing mechanisms, such as negotiations and auctions, in B2B Electronic
Commerce

(e.g., mobile, peer-to-peer, RFID)
·

make-or-buy-decisions
·

business network design and strategic alliances
·
